There was a time when we all had a hearty laugh at germophobic, Naomi Campbell, who wore a hazmat suit for air travel. This was way before we had even heard of corona. Now looks like she will be the one laughing as many people are indeed looking at the option of using the hazmat suit while travelling.

A Toronto based company, VYZR Technologies, has launched a hazmat suit, BioVYZR via crowdfunding site Indiegogo. It looks like a space suit and costs $250 but it comes with anti-fogging “windows” and a built-in hospital-grade air-purifying device. The paranoia is high can be judged by the fact that it has already got orders to the tune of 50,000 suits. The first batch will be delivered by the end of this month.

BioVYZR weighs less than three pounds, is easy to disinfect and easy to pack it away. It is put on by a chest harness – it sits on the shoulders; two adjustable side straps with buckles can be cinched around the waist, similar to those of a life jacket. Its a snug fit so will not cause any inconvenience to the fellow passenger.

So many people have pre-ordered without even knowing whether the airlines will allow this or not. Well, if its not allowed, maybe it will remain as a souvenir of this crazy time we all are living through.
