What a fantastic sense of humor!! We can never expect our police force to issue something like what the New Zealand Easter District Police stated.
After thrashing the New Zealand team in the two ODIs with a 2-0 lead in five-match series, the Easter District Police took to an unusual way to praise the Men in Blue on social media.
They have put a post in their Facebook account, accompanies with a group picture of the Indian team, saying, "Police would like to issue a warning to members of the public about the exploits of a group touring the country at the moment.”
It went on to say, "Witnesses report seeing this group badly assault an innocent looking bunch of New Zealanders in both Napier and Mt. Maunganui in the last week. Extra care should be taken if you are carrying anything that looks like a cricket bat or ball."
Obviously, this has been taken in the right sense, evoking guffaws and smiles. Well, the third ODI is happening today, so let’s see if the warning is taken seriously by the hosting team!
Wish our institutions also, at least once in a while, let their hair down and show their funny bones! It will make them more human…
