Without looking at anything with the hue of politics, this scheme from Madhya Pradesh, Dwar Praday Yojana, a pilot project started in Indore last month, has really got people talking.
Under this project, if you need these five documents from the Govt - domicile certificate, income certificate, birth certificate, death certificate and copy of Khasra-Khatauni (a land ownership document) , it will be delivered to your home within 24 hours of applying.
The charge is nothing phenomenal – just an extra Rs.15 for the home delivery of the document.
The administration has engaged a local courier agency, which delivers the documents after collecting them from public service centres.
Now isn’t this a fantastic idea? The Tatkal passport service has already proven that if the right people are employed and right processes are put in place, even the most tedious of the Govt documents can be delivered to your doorstep within 24 hours. Maybe this is what most of the municipal corporations need to gear up for.
