Deepak Chopra to rescue!

In these troubled times, where constant anxiety and fear stalks the mind, there are many who feel, and rightly so, that meditation could help. And it does!

Meditation is the science of focus – it helps you pull your mind from all the external things to focus inwards. In meditation, the mind is clear, relaxed, and inwardly focused. When you meditate, you are fully awake and alert, but your mind is not focused on the external world or on the events taking place around you. Meditation requires an inner state that is still and one-pointed so that the mind becomes silent.

And in the modern western world, Deepak Chopra is one name which resonates with anything which mentions meditation. To help people clam down their minds, he is giving free meditation sessions online. Yesterday, some one million people logged in for a live meditation session streaming on Vimeo, an online video platform. It abruptly stopped as the server simply could not bear the load and the site crashed. Chopra re-emerged shortly afterward on Facebook live.

Its great that the virus is pushing more and more people towards meditation and we wish in India too, more and more people announce such live sessions during the lock-in to calm or minds.
