Those living in Goa would as such be feeling blessed with the  abundance of flora and fauna and the bright blue sea and clear skies. Apart from Nature, the people of Goa are also happy with the Manohar Parrikar government, which slashed petrol prices by Rs 11 when the rest of the country was grappling with rising prices.

Continuing to keep an eye on the prices, the Manohar Parrikar Govt has now initiated a new scheme for the housewives of Goa who are struggling to make two ends meet given the soaring inflation. As per the new scheme, any married woman, who is a resident of Goa for the last 15 years and her gross income along with her husband and wife does not exceed Rs 3 lakh per, is eligible to get financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month. The amount will be deposited directly into the saving bank account of the eligible beneficiary. Known as the ‘Griha Aadhar Scheme’ it is sure to become a major hit with the residents and we could other states also announcing such schemes, naturally with an eye on the vote bank.

People have also smartened up and know the ways and means of the politicians. They know that they should also make hay while the sun shines because once elections are over, the same politician does not bother even if the voter is alive or dead. All schemes are eyed with a lot of trepidation and wariness. Well, make the most of it, that’s the mantra of the aam admi today.
