When it comes to names, Tata seems to be jinxed. First was the much touted and world-awaited, cheapest car in India – Tata Nano. The name was apt but what was not right was its placement as the cheapest car. In India, there are more poor people than rich yet no one wants to buy anything that is cheap, after all status is bigger than the pocket! So it went around to projecting it as the Smart City Car but things have not changed much.

And now the latest is the name of its hatchback – Zica. It was a unique name but unluckily enough for Tata Motors, the mosquito currently spreading panic in South America is also named the same.

The company invited suggestions on a new name for its hatchback and has initiated the process through crowd-sourcing activity -- "#Fantastico Name Hunt."  The hunt for the new name ended at 23:59 IST, 18:29 GMT and 13:29 EST on 7th of February, 2016.

Thanks God all this happened before the car was officially launched! But next time, Tata thinks of a new name for its new car, it better have another name ready as a backup!
