The Zoozoo's are back!

The madness called IPL begins today and more than the matches, what we look forward to are the adorable Zoozoos. Yes, they will be back on TV from today; surely we all need a break from these mud slinging politicians! And Zoozoos and IPL have become something of a ritual – if there is IPL, it is incomplete without Zoozoos, like birthday and cakes.

This will be the fifth edition of these ads and as usual, the ads will regale one and all. Looking something like Casper, they are not animated characters but actual people inside these specially designed costumes. These are small framed actors, covered in layers of white fabric and each facial expression is made of rubber and is pasted on the actors. A film shot at 20 frames per second  made the Zoozoo’s movements hurried and comical. Of the 29 different Zoozoo ads created for the IPL, there will be a new one every day. The ads were created by Ogilvy & Mather, the agency handling Vodafone advertisements.

This time around, the Zoozoo themes will be contextualised around well-known TV shows. The first advertisement will centre around a popular dance competition show while the other will take cue from a well-known quiz competition show. So here’s more to Zoozoo’s, probably the best thing about IPL!
