He was joined by another activist, Poornima Sukumar and then travelled across 14 cities, collecting clothes and other stuff. During the day, they halted in cities, urged people to print the palms of their hands or do any art on the canvas mounted on the truck, They drove through the night. They themselves also painted and urged the artists in the cities to come and draw, contribute through their art.

He and his team collected some Rs.25 lakh worth of winter clothes as well as Rs.3 lakh in cash and material. They got help from SaddaHaq.com, which contributed Rs.95,000 and another Rs.1,13,000 from crowd-funding website Ketto.org. People on thy way also contributed, some Rs.500 and some Rs.1000.
