Women friendly employer

If you are a woman, ICICI Bank is probably the best place to work! Apart from the fact that the top management rung is women dominated, the Bank has extremely women-friendly policies. In March’16 it launched iWork@home, an initiative that allows women employees to work from home for up to a year, which could be extended for more than one year based on the requirements of the employee. This initiative allows women employees to have access to their required operating systems in a safe and secure manner, creating a seamless office-like environment. All women in the Bank, except those in direct customer-facing ones, are eligible for this initiative based on their life stage needs. These would include young mothers, expectant mothers, those suffering from medical conditions among others.

That’s not all – there is another great initiative. Women managers who travel on business, if they have children below the age of three years, can take them along for the overnight trip, wherein expenses of the child will be borne by the Bank.

ICICI Bank has also introduced new benefits under its “Advantage Woman Savings Account”. These include unlimited free ATM usage at all banks, cash back subject to a maximum of Rs 750 per month on usage of debit card at departmental stores; it also provides 30 per cent discount on first-year locker rentals.

And tying in all these great advantages, the words of Maneka Gandhi could not have come at a much better time. She has made a proposal to mandate that private and public sector companies in India provide day-care facilities (crèche) for the children of women employees.  Now that is something which not just banks but most companies are afford to do. After all, women today are a very important ingredient, contributing to the growth of the company and the economy.
