Newspaper publishing houses are up in the green today as the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) has taken a decision to revise the advertisement rates for print media.
The ministry has announced a hike of 25% over and above the existing rate structure for advertisement in print media. The decision will be valid for a period of three years.
The direct beneficiary of this hike are the newspaper publishers as any hike in ad rates means better margins as it will help them offset printing costs. With elections round the corner, newspapers are sure to receive huge ad campaigns from political parties; thus this hike in ad rates could not have come at a more opportune time.
