Mumbai is really trying its level best to beautify the train stations and the best way ahead is through the use of art.

Known as Hamara Station Hamari Shaan (HSHS), this is a project aimed at beautifying Mumbai’s train stations and they want all the budding artists across the city to be involved. You can pick from 21 stations on the Western line and 15 on Central and work your magic on foot-over bridges, staircases, booking windows and platforms.

The citizen-powered programme will run from 2–8 October 2016. You can participate by registering (for free) as a volunteer where HSHS will supply the paints, brushes and instructions.

HSHS is a programme between NGOs Mumbai First and Making A Difference (M.A.D), in collaboration with the city’s Western and Central Railways. It is part of a voluntary initiative known as Daan Utsav (earlier known as the Joy of Giving Week).

Here are the stations in which you can unleash your creativity:
Western Railway : Churchgate, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel,Matunga, Elphinstone Road, Dadar, Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, Vile Parle, Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar.

And on the Central Railway: Masjid Bunder, Sandhurst Road, Byculla, Chinchpokli, Currey Road, Parel, Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Bhandup, Nahur, Mulund, Thane.

All set to brush up on your art skills? Do it, to bring out the best not just in the city but maybe rediscover yourself.
