While it is true that the children today are getting more and more addicted to the online world, China refuses to merely accept it! The most populous nation in the world, China, is seeing an increasingly large number of young children turning to the Internet for escaping reality.  There has been a surge of users playing online games, completely addicted to it. A lot of Chinese teenagers are diagnosed with ‘Internet Addiction Disorder.’

To curb this problem, parents are sending their children to military-style boot camps designed to wean young people off their addiction to the Internet. There are over 250 camps in China! The camps which run between four to eight months, covers classes, physical exercises and courses in Chinese Lion dancing. The children are also given counseling sessions with psychologists to rebuild their self-confidence.

A resort to force, however, cannot be the solution for curing addicts. Proper monitoring by parents and website blocking of certain sites might prove more effective. With Indian teens being obsessed with technology and gaming as well, do we foresee an Indian boot camp in the future?
