Make a note of these 45 stations if you happen to be travelling across the country by Indian Railways.

Howrah, New Delhi, Chennai Central, Mumbai Central, Delhi, Bangalore City, Patna, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Madurai, Amritsar, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kanpur Central, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Gorakhpur, Sealdah, Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Vishakhapatnam, Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Jaipur, Bilaspur, Kharagpur, Anand Vihar, H. Nizamuddin, Ludhiana, Secunderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Chennai Egmore, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Thrisur, Yasvantpur, Nagpur, Pune, Agra Cantt, Gwalior, Jhansi, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara.

These 45 stations are now labeled as ‘Food-on-track’. Instead of linking providing food at particular stations, it has decided to link food service to the stations. So if you are approaching any of these 45 stations on your journey, you can place your order for food via an SMS or through IRCTC’s online facility.

The moment we say this, the first thought, more than quality of food which comes to mind – will they respond to the SMS or online order? Such has been the lackadaisical way of functioning of anything Govt that it is but natural to first have no trust on the system. But apparently this works – on this Sunday gone by, IRCTC got online orders for 1,000 meals against the earlier trend of 80-90 meals a day.

And the food -  you can order Domino Pizza, KFC and Travel Food Services (who will take charge of Biryani Bhai, Copper Chimney, Curry Kitchen, Masala Kitchen, Desi Treat and Cafe Chino) and Punjab Grill. So travel now for the sake of this food experience.
