Camphor & Allied Products (CAPL), a pioneer in the manufacture of Terpene and Petrochemical based Fragrance Chemicals and Fragrance Chemical intermediates in India was in news lately after it announced a multi-year manufacturing and supply agreement for the manufacture of Fragrance Ingredient Intermediates and finished products with International Flavours and Fragrances Inc. (IFF) with headquarters in USA.

The company for Q2FY15 reported a 67% (YoY) drop in net profit at Rs.2 crore despite a 21% rise in net sales at Rs.92 crore. This fall in bottomline was on account of higher operating cost, up 35%. EBITDA was down from Rs.12 crore to Rs.7 crore. Net profit would have been much lower but for the exceptional gain of Rs.1.25 crore. The company has a small equity at Rs.5.13 crore and reserves stands at Rs.111 crore. Promoters hold 57.66% stake and there is no FII stake.
