Jet Airways takes off into new year

Jet Airways is the top gainer on the bourses since the morning session. In fact it has been hitting new highs since the past few days. Today too, the stock hit a new high at Rs.778.60, with volumes surging some three times.
All aviation stocks are up on news that aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have been reduced by Rs.4428/kiliolitre or by 10% to Rs.39,892.32/kiloliter, w.e.f today.
ATF comprises some 50% of the total operating costs of airlines and this reduction in prices helps shore up margins.
