Sarda Energy & Minerals, which had shut down its operations on 9th March 2016 due to Naxal attacks, finally resumed operations. This refers to its iron ore mines in Dongarbore in Chhattisgarh.

This company is one of the lowest cost producers of sponge iron, billets, ingots, TMT bars and one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of ferro alloys in India. Its market cap stands at almost Rs.900 crore and promoters hold a good 71.29% stake.

The market is happy with the resumption of business and this is reflected in the stock price, which rose over 12% to an intra day high at Rs.256.65 and 52-week high stands at Rs.296.60.
