This craze to have selfies is really driving the world nuts!

Can you believe this – a Michigan fire crew actually stood ahead of a house on fire and took a selfie and posted it on the Detroit Fire Incidents Facebook page, with the caption, "Crews take a moment to get a selfie on New Years!" 

Seriously! You have to see the picture to believe how bizarre this craze for selfies is becoming. There are so many incidents where people actually take a selfie when a calamity has struck to notify their social media friends that they were there! But don’t they think what they are conveying – they were there alright but what were they doing to help the situation?

This psyche of FOMO – fear of missing out is so very real. This social anxiety, characterized by "a desire to stay continually connected with what others are doing and posting what you are doing,” is truly a mental disorder.
