In Uttarakhand’s Joshimath, which is the last big town before one begins the journey to one of the holiest pilgrimages of a Hindu – to Badrinath; also a stop over for many Sikhs visiting Hemkund sahib. Here, Eid was celebrated with a new fervor as the local gurudwara offered Muslims space to offer Eid prayers. This is communal harmony at its best, isn’t it?
As more and more stories of hatred between people grows, such small gestures warms the heart and restores faith in humanity.
