No changing with time!

Nothing quite goes as quickly obsolete as technology… what you buy today, in that instant itself, it has become obsolete. Remember the 3D wave, everyone wanted to own TVs which were 3Ds and movies were all made mainly with 3D format in mind. Soon headaches and discomfort led to more and more people discontinuing its use and today, the technology is there, not yet out but might soon head out.

There is talk of Goggle glass and many others too attempting to do the same. There is also something known as the smartwatch, which allows computing and pretty much everything right on the wrist. And oh, it will tell time too!

When this took off, there was contemplation that the centuries old watch making industry of Switzerland might go out of business – they either shut down or evolve to adopt the new technology. But the Swiss are known for their cautionary outlook and the watch makers just sat quiet and watched. Today, they must be feeling vindicated as not too many people are seen sporting this smartwatch. Tissot, Patek Phillippe, La Montre Hermes, none of these luxury watch makers are going for smartwatches; they plan to make watches the way they have been making for years now.

Tissot has categorically said that it is not interested in launching a smartwatch, citing previous tech-oriented gadgets, such as the Tissot High-T and the Swatch Paparazzi - both of which offered limited computer-type functions and were fruits of a collaboration with Microsoft - but which had not met with the hoped-for success.

Well, its sometimes reassuring to know that some good old things do not change….
