Globus Spirits Limited has filed its DRHP with SEBI on 20-07-07 for a public issue to raise Rs.68 crores by issuing equity shares of Rs.10 each a premium. SREI Capital Market is the BRLM and shares would be listing on BSE and NSE.

 

As the name suggest, the company is engaged in the business of manufacture, marketing and sale of

Industrial Alcohol comprising Rectified Spirit and Extra-Neutral Alcohol, Country Liquor, and

Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). It has made a name for itself in country liquor segment and IMFL segment. It has already launched its own IMFL brands in the north Indian state of Haryana and, proposes to launch the brands in six more states in North India and four states in South India. It aims at making its presence felt all over India within the next one year.

 

The company owns two modern distilleries, which are situated at Rajasthan and Haryana and both have their own captive supply of water and power unit with a 2MW capacity. It also has its own bottling facility. The total licensed and installed capacity of both the units stand is at 144 lakh Bulk Litres (BL) per annum each.

 

The company is making the public issue to fund its proposed modernization and expansion plans at the two existing facilities. It is investing a substantial part of the money into building a brand for itself. The company has estimated its total project cost at Rs. 82.53 crore of which it has got a term loan from SBI to the tune of Rs.12 crore. Internal accruals are to be ploughed in to the tune of Rs.2.53 crore and the balance Rs.68 crore is expected to come in from the proposed IPO. Till 25 June 2007, the company has spent a total sum of Rs. 4.51 crore towards the project.

 

As at 31st march 2007, the company had net sales of Rs.111.99 crore, PBT stood at Rs.12.25 crore and net profit was at Rs.8.65 crore. Currently, its equity capital is at Rs.11.76 core, giving an EPS of Rs.7.35.
