JK Paper among gainers

JK Paper is among the top five gainers on the BSE; the stock, which had closed at Rs.393.85, opened lower today at Rs. 389.05 and rose to an intraday high at Rs.444.45.
The stock, like KIOCL also featured as a major gainer today without any new news.
The reason for the surge is once again the firm paper and pulp prices which improves the margin outlook. It could also be attributed to the festive and academic demand season which strengthens sentiments. What we are seeing is also increased institutional interest now flowing into cyclical midcaps like paper stocks.
Clearly, investors are clearly positioning ahead of the Q2FY26 earnings season, betting on margin expansion stories. The surge in the paper stocks today is a sector upcycle, not a company specific trigger.
