Sky Gold shines bright

Sky Gold and Diamonds is currently among the top three gainers on the BSE, rising 10.12% to Rs. 789.45. The stock touched a fresh 52-week high of Rs. 814.40, against its previous close of Rs. 716.90. Market depth was almost evenly matched, with sell quantity at 39,923 against buy quantity of 39,309, suggesting some profit booking after the sharp move.

Trigger

  • Strong Q1 FY27 performance.
  • Revenue rose 78% YoY and 5% QoQ to Rs. 2,012.8 crore.
  • EBITDA jumped 120% YoY and 11.4% QoQ to Rs. 156.7 crore.
  • EBITDA margin expanded to 8%, up 148 bps YoY and 43 bps QoQ.
  • Reported PAT surged 141% YoY and 16% QoQ to Rs. 105 crore.
  • Operational PAT grew 142% YoY and 21% QoQ.
  • PAT margin improved to 5%, against 4% in Q1 FY26 and 5% in Q4 FY26.

The rally is being driven by a strong earnings beat and sustained margin expansion, with the company benefiting from demand from organised jewellery retailers, lightweight jewellery, value-added products and better operating scale. The management also indicated that design-led consumption, retailer partnerships and manufacturing agility are helping Sky Gold strengthen its position in the organised jewellery manufacturing segment.

Another positive is the company’s product mix. Sky Gold’s focus on ultra-lightweight jewellery, lower-carat offerings and diamond-studded categories gives it a wider addressable market at a time when high gold prices are pushing consumers towards lighter and more affordable jewellery options.

The stock is already trading at a rich PE of 50.77 times standalone and 35.63 times consolidated earnings, with PB also elevated. After today’s new 52-week high, the market may now watch whether the company can sustain this pace of growth, protect margins and justify the premium valuation.
