Wockhardt top gainer on BSE

Wockhardt is the top gainer on the BSE today morning, up 15% at Rs.532.10, with an intra day high at Rs.546.25. Volumes are huge at almost 3 lakh shares, doubling up from its two week average.

The stock has bounced back sharply into the green after the company stated that its promoters - Khorakiwala Holdings & Investments Pvt Ltd had acquired 211,094 equity shares representing 0.20% stake in the company through open market purchases. This is apart from the same promoter buying 50,000 shares each on 30^th Aug, 2^nd Sept and 3^rd Sept and 61,904 shares on 4^th Sept. These shares were bought at an average cost of Rs.9.66 crore and this means, the holding of Khorakiwala Holdings has risen from 63.88% to 64.08%. What has also helped spike up the stpck price is the revision in the upper circuit filter of the stock from 5% to 20% with effect from today.
