Wim Plast, makers of Cello brand of consumer products, is down in the red today, not exactly a rout but down. The stock, intra day slipped to Rs.1770 from previous close of Rs.1791 and remains around the same lows.

The stock is down because on 14th April, the company was restrained by the District Court of Gandhinagar, Gujarat from selling Symphony look-alike air coolers. Symphony had filed the charges that three Wimplast’s brand of air coolers – Marvel, Wave and Tower were copy cats of similar Symphony registered designs of models Winter, Sumo and Diet.

Following this, the District Court has restrained Cello or Wim Plast by an order of temporary injunction from manufacturing, marketing, advertising and publishing, selling the products which is having identical and deceptively similar Design as of the Design of the petitioner's (Symphony) designs of models Winter, Sumo, and Diet.
