It’s a good thing that India Inc will spend more money on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at such times.

The Govt, to help share the burden of combating the Covid, has allowed India Inc to use its mandatory CSR spending on measures to fight Covid.

The funds spent for various activities related to COVID-19 relating to promotion of healthcare, including preventive health care and sanitation and disaster management.

While the government can be appreciated for the proactive measure it has taken to prevent the contagious virus, the corporates need to join the fight.

DCB Bank yesterday announced CSR spending worth Rs 1 crore in the next three months.

This is the time for corporate India to help. Yes, the burden on them is huge as their own earnings have hit a stop but these are extraordinary times and they need to do whatever they can to help. If each of these Sensex 500 companies come together and decide to take up the responsibility, the current pain could ease a bit.

Money can always be earned back but a human life lost is forever.
