eMudhra on the rise

eMudhra is among the top gainers on the BSE today, rising 9.75% to Rs. 651.50. The stock opened sharply higher at Rs. 624.95 against its previous close of Rs. 593.60 and touched an intraday high of Rs. 677.50. Volumes were unusually strong, with 10.74 lakh shares traded against a two-week average of just 0.27 lakh shares, and turnover stood at Rs. 70.09 crore. Market depth, however, shows higher sell quantity of 74,325 shares against buy quantity of 43,304 shares, suggesting profit booking at higher levels.

The market is rewarding eMudhra because this is not just a one-off certification win. LEI issuance sits inside the larger compliance, identity and digital trust ecosystem, exactly where eMudhra already operates. GLEIF said the appointment allows organisations to obtain and maintain LEIs through eMudhra’s existing identity-verification and onboarding processes, improving speed and scale.

The revenue opportunity comes from workflow integration. If banks, corporates, brokers and regulated entities increasingly need LEIs for financial-market transactions, eMudhra can add LEI issuance and renewal as another compliance-led service within its existing digital trust stack. Business Today also noted that the appointment comes as LEI adoption is rising in India.

eMudhra is trading at around 46x consolidated PE and 138x standalone PE, while the stock has moved sharply after yesterday’s 20% upper circuit. So while the trigger is structurally positive, the market will now look for evidence that this validation-agent role can translate into meaningful recurring revenue, not just sentiment-led volume buying.
