IRCTC, which had closed on Friday at Rs.1240.85, opened itself today 5% higher at Rs.1302.85, immediately hitting the 5% UC. Over 1.45 lakh pending buy orders were seen on the counter.
The stock price hit the roof because the Indian Railways yesterday announced that it plans to gradually resume train services for passengers starting Tuesday. Online bookings for reservation will start from tomorrow, 11 May, 2020 at 4 pm and will be available only on IRCTC website. No ticket booking counters will be open.
All passenger trains will be run with AC coaches only and with limited stoppages. The fare will be equivalent to the ticket fare that is charged for Rajdhani Train.
